In the Franchise world, Food and Restaurants are the most popular industry because it was basically the start of the franchise industry with companies like McDonalds. However it is the most expensive franchise to invest in as you will need to lease retail space, purchase furniture, fixtures and equipment to meet standards and the look and feel of the franchise brand.

A typical Food franchise will start around $500,000 and go as high as $2,000,000 based on the brand and the size of the store. You will also be required to hire a lot of staff, usually a manager and be prepared for being open 16 – 18 hours a day and these days many locations are open 24/7. Many of these franchise chains can be very profitable investments but be prepared to put in the time to make it work and possibly invest in multiple units as time goes on. Many franchises will actually require you to take on additional units in your community to build the brand name.
